Ninian Southern Platform has a history of significant in-service weld defects and associated problems. Pre and Post Winter integrity inspections are required upon the major structural components on a Bi-annual basis in accordance with the integrity driven inspection plan. As part of this offshore campaign FMD was carried out on platform members, riser stubs and clamp guide frames as well as ACFM upon high priority welds and known defects so has to confirm no change. In addition to the standard Pre-Winter scope locations identified for Strain Monitoring devices were also inspected with a view to install such devices in 2020.

Smart Subsea Solutions were required to work closely with the Structural TA to define the scope of work, select an appropriate contractor, and review and approve offshore work pack s prior to execution. It was also required to manage of the subsea contractor throughout the execution of the campaign. The scope was completed within budget and on schedule through effective management of SIMOPS and the order of inspection tasks performed in field.
