Ninian Southern Platform has a history of significant in-service weld defects and associated problems. As such Pre and Post Winter integrity inspections are required upon the major structural components on a bi-annual basis in accordance with the integrity driven inspection plan. FMD, TOFD, ACFM and Shear Wave inspection was performed upon known defects to determine defect profile and where applicable a suitable method for repair. In addition Photogrammetry and ovality checks were performed to provide the means to fabricate a pup piece should a hyperbaric weld repair be conducted.

Smart Subsea Solutions managed the delivery of project for the full duration of the work, defining the statement of requirements, award to subsea contractor, procedure development, HIRA, execution offshore and financial close out. The scope was completed within budget and aligned with the baseline schedule.
