Project Name: Greater Guillemot Area August 2011
Project Location: North Sea, United Kingdom
The Guillemot West Field is located in Block 21/24, approximately 100km east of Aberdeen. The water depth varies from 83m to 92m across the field. The Guillemot West, Western Extension, Clapham, Pict and Saxon fields are all connected to the Triton FPSO via two common production flow lines. The flow lines run between the FPSO, through manifolds located at DC1, DC2 and DC6 with a pigging loop connecting the two flow lines at DC6. DC6 manifold is a hub for production fluids from DC3, DC5, DC7 and DC8 manifolds.
Smart Subsea Solutions Limited were contracted through and worked in conjunction with Genesis Oil and Gas Consultants to Dana Petroleum to manage the onshore preparations leading up to the planned scale squeeze on CC well. This involved the generation of project schedules, subsea procedures, deck plans and the development of suitable isolation philosophies to allow for the safe intervention on Well CC. The scale squeeze on Well CC is required bi-annually and is designed to stimulate and maintain production rates through the removal of well bore scale.
Onshore preparations also involved close liaison with Dana Petroleum production chemists, the diving contractor, pumping contractor, chemical contractor and DECC for the purposes of the PON and calculation of the allowable chemical discharge to sea and into the well bore.
Smart Subsea Solutions is well versed with scale squeeze techniques having previously generated procedures for Shell at Bittern (PC and PD) and Teal P2. The scale squeeze performed on Teal CC was considered to be the worlds first scale squeeze to be performed purely by ROV using the DSV Polaris.
