Contracted by Samphire Subsea on behalf of Maersk Oil, Smart Subsea Solutions provided Package Engineering support and was responsible for overseeing the design, fabrication, delivery and installation of the Flyndre Cawdor Subsea Manifolds.

Key Responsibilities included working closely with the Design House, Process, Subsea and Controls Engineers to finalise the subsea design. As a Package Engineer it was required to evaluate bid submissions at tender stage, suitably qualify and define the preferred fabricator. Responsible for financial package control and the coordination of delivery of long lead items such as Pile Connectors, Line Pipe, Flanges, Fittings and Controls system in order to suit the requirements of the Fabricators and meet the delivery constraints of the Installation Contractor.

Responsible for the review and approval of Fabricators documentation including Weld Procedure Specifications, Coating and Insulation Procedures, Inspection Test Plans ensuring alignment with Industry, and Project Specific Standards. A key role during the fabrication was the development of a Site Integration Test Procedure which determined the effectiveness of Diver and ROV intervention, valve operation, tool interfacing and controls system readiness.
