Project Name: Gryphon Area Reconstruct Feb 2013
Project Location: North Sea, United Kingdom
The Gryphon Field is located in Block 9/18b of the Central North Sea. It is linked to the Gryphon FPSO (floating production storage and offloading) which is located approximately 280km NE of Aberdeen in 112m of water. Following a mooring incident in February 2011 much of the existing infrastructure required repair and / or replacement.
Smart Subsea Solutions were contracted through and worked in conjunction with Samphire Subsea to Maersk Oil to provide client representation on the DSV Bibby Sapphire during Campaign 4 of the reconstruct project, February 2013.
Campaign 4 included barrier testing at trees and manifolds for the purposes of subsea flushing and integrity testing of the gas lift system, pressure source tie-ins to the Gryphon FPSO, installation of SCM’s and barrier testing and isolation support to a second DSV in field.
Smart Subsea Solutions was responsible for the day to day scheduling of subsea activities and simultaneous operations with other vessels in field including the Gryphon FPSO.
Smart Subsea Solutions ensured that diving procedures were followed and where necessary managed appropriately through the Management of Change Process. A key responsibility was to liaise with the Gryphon FPSO to ensure that their Permit to Work system was followed and the correct level of isolation was applied to ensure safe practices subsea.
